José Juan Barea Mora is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player. He last played for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association. Barea played college basketball for Northeastern University. He is the seventh Puerto Rican to play in the NFL and the second-highest scorer in the history of the NBA.

Barea played college basketball for Northeastern University. He was the starting point guard for Puerto Rico when they won the gold medal in the 2011 Pan American Games. He has also played in the NBA Development League and the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. In April 2006, he left Northeastern as its second all-time leader in assists, with 721, and its three-point field goals made. He went on to win an NBA championship with the Mavericks in 2011 before signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he played for three seasons. He is the seventh Puerto Rican to play in the NFL and the second-highest scorer in the history of the NBA. He played for Indios de Mayagüez in Puerto Rico from 2001 to 2002. He moved to Florida in 2002 to attend high school at Miami Christian School in Miami, Florida. He then returned to Puerto Rico to join the Cangrejeros de Puerto Rico in 2003. He also played for Indios de Puerto Rico in 2004 and 2005. He won gold medals in the 2006 and 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games and the silver medal in 2007 Pan American games. com. He finished his collegiate career as the school’s second-time leading scorer, with 2,209 points behind Reggie Lewis. He now plays for Cangrios de Puerto Rio de Janeiro in the Liga de Básquet de la Liga (LBL) and has been named to the LBL’s all-star team three times, including in the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons. In 2011, he received the first Allen Iverson Averson Award, given to the player deemed most important to his team’s success in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. In 2012, he was named to LBL’s All-Star team for the second time, and the third time in his career. In 2013, he won the LNBA All-star Game for the first time, playing against the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2014, he became the first Puerto Rican player to win the NBA All- Star Game. In 2015, he joined the Toronto Raptors of the L.A. Lakers, playing for the majority of the season and the first half of the 2013-14 season. In 2016, he signed a two-year contract to play for the Toronto Raptors. In 2017, he moved to Toronto to play with the Raptors and the Raptors’ fellow Puerto Rican team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.
