Sharon Vonne Stone is an American actress, producer, and former fashion model. She made her film debut as an extra in Woody Allen’s comedy-drama Stardust Memories. Stone found mainstream prominence with her part in Paul Verhoeven’s science fiction action film Total Recall. She received further acclaim with her performance in Martin Scorsese’s epic crime drama Casino.

Stone has had notable performances in the miniseries War and Remembrance and the HBO television film If These Walls Could Talk 2. She has also appeared in the series Agent X, Steven Soderbergh’s Mosaic, and The New Pope. In 1995, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and in 2005, she was named Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters in France. Stone was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to Dorothy Marie, an accountant, and Joseph William Stone II, a tool and die manufacturer and factory worker. She is of part Irish ancestry. In 2013 in an interview with Conan O’Brien Stone stated that her Irish ancestors arrived in the United States during the Great Famine. Stone, inspired by Hillary Clinton, went back to Edinboro University to complete her degree in 2016. She was signed by Ford Modeling Agency in New York City. Stone later moved to Europe, living for a year in Milan and then in Paris. While living there, she decided to quit modeling and pursue acting.

She won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, and in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Stone has also played a ditsy bimbo meter maid in the first season of the television series Silver Spoons. In 1983, she played Cathy St. Marie, the wife of baseball player Terry Marie, in the short-lived sports-themed television series Bay City Blues. In 1984, she appeared in an episode of Magnum P.I. opposite William Shatner. Her next role was in Irreconcilable Differences, starring Ryan O’Neal, Shelley Long, and a young Drew Barrymore. In 2014, she starred in the two-part episode of E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, playing identical twins, twins P. I. and P. J. Hooker. She also played the twin sister of twins Barrymore and Barrymore in the episode “Echoes of the Mind” in which Barrymore played a successful director who breaks up with his wife and his screen starlet. She appeared in two episodes of Magnum I.S.U. in the 1990s, playing the identical twin of Barrymore’s wife, Shelley, and the episode “Echoes Of The Mind” in which she played a young identical twin, Barrymore, Shelley and Drew O’Neal. Stone appeared in several episodes of The X-Files, including “The X- Files: The First 48 Hours” and “X-Files: The Second Half”.
