The title refers to the flavor of ice-cream that Garner’s daughter was eating when she was murdered. The movie was shot on location in California over fifty days. It was previously scheduled to be the first film in the Taken series starring Liam Neeson and Gerard Butler, which starred Gerard Butler in August 2017, but was delayed until August 2018 due to filming in London, where the film was being filmed for Taken 2.

The sequel, Taken 3, is expected to be released in spring 2019. The third film in The Taken series, Taken 4, is due out in May 2019. It will be based on a true story of a woman who became a vigilante after her husband was killed by a drug-trafficking syndicate and her daughter was killed at a carnival. The fourth and final installment, Taken 5, is scheduled for release in June 2019. This time, the film will be released on Blu-ray and DVD, and will also be available on the Blu-Ray and DVD in the UK and the U.S. for the first time ever on September 13, 2018, and on the DVD in Australia on September 14, 2014.
