About The World Ends with You in brief

Summary The World Ends with YouThe World Ends with You is an action role-playing game with urban fantasy elements developed by Square Enix and Jupiter for the Nintendo DS. It was released in Japan in July 2007, and in PAL regions and North America in April 2008. The game takes place in a fictional version of the Shibuya shopping district in Tokyo, Japan. An anime television series adaptation is scheduled to premiere in April 2021. A sequel, NEO: The World Ends With You, has been announced and is planned to release for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in mid-2021. In the game, Neku Sakuraba and his allies are forced to participate in a game that will determine their fate. The battle system uses many of the unique features of the NintendoDS, including combat that takes place on both screens, and attacks performed by certain motions on the touchscreen or by shouting into the microphone. A manga based on the video game was later created by Shiro Amano, writer and artist of the Kingdom Hearts manga, later created a manga based upon the game. The World ends with You was the second best-selling DS title in Japan, and the top selling DS title for the week of its release in North America. It has been translated into several languages, including English, French, German, and Spanish. The player assumes the role of Neku, an initially anti-social teenage boy who claims he does not “get” people at first. Players make up the rest of the cast, which includes computer-controlled characters who are paired with Neku on the Game, and a teenage girl who takes on the form of her best friend as her physical entry for the Game.

The character Neku’s final partner is an intelligent and sly teenage boy, Joshua Kiryu, who prefers to be called Joshua Daisuke, and prefers to call himself Bito Bito, or Rhyme Bito. Neku becomes a Reaper to find a way to bring his younger sister back to life to bring her back to the real world. In order to do this, Players are required to form a pact with another Player to survive the Noise. The UG is frequented by creatures called “Noise” which are attracted by the negative feelings of the living. To progress in the Reapers’ Game, players are often required to defeat Noise by killing or killing or erasing them. Each Noise exists in two parallel universes simultaneously, and can only be defeated by two players simultaneously fighting and defeating the Noise from these separate zones. Players receive assignments via text messages sent to their cell phones, and their right hands are imprinted with a countdown indicating the time left in the mission. Lasting a week, each Game is a contest to judge the worth of humanity. After a day’s mission is complete, the remaining players find themselves at the start of the nextday’s mission, having no sense of the time that has passed in between. Failure to complete a mission will disperse the mind and spirit of the player or Reaper, thus erasing his or her existence.
