About The Quintessential Quintuplets in brief

Summary The Quintessential QuintupletsThe Quintessential Quintuplets is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Negi Haruba. It was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from August 2017 to February 2020. The series follows the daily life of a high school student Futaro Uesugi who is hired as a private tutor for a group of quintuplets. An anime television series adaptation aired from January to March 2019 on TBS and other channels. A second season by Bibury Animation Studios premiered on January 2021. The anime series is licensed in North America under a Crunchyroll–Funimation partnership. It is a commercial success, being the 5th best selling manga in 2019, and the 3rd bestselling manga in the first half of 2020 in Japan. It won the award for the shōnen category at the 43rd annual Kodanha Manga Awards in 2019. In Vol. 1, showing panties are worn, i.e. i e. panchira, which makes readers less interesting to love, and then the mysterious love between Futaro and Yotsuba makes it less interesting. The identity of the bride is not revealed until near the end of the story.

The hair colour of the Nakano quint uplets are different when being coloured, which was suggested by Haruba himself, such that they are more distinguishable from each other. The flashforward that Futaro will eventually marry with one of the quintuplet sisters is therefore only a flashforward in-between the five flashforward-in-between chapters of the manga. It has been suggested that the series should have a negative ending because Haruba wanted to write how their relationship improved from hate to love in the story, except for the character who acts as the guide for the Futaro’s love life. The idea of a romantic comedy manga to have a sexy romantic story to have sexy love between the main character and his five love interest was rejected by the editor. The design of the five quintuples started from his favourite existing female characters from \”some slice-of-life works only with girls\” around 15 to 20.
