It is a part of Roger Ebert’s series The Great Movies and was cited by Panorama du Film Noir Américain as the first major movie noir. It was released in the U.S. on October 4, 1941. The UK version was released on October 6, 1941 and was released the following day in the UK. It has been released in Australia on October 9, 2011. It will be released in Japan on October 15, 2011, and in the United States on October 16, 2011 and in Europe on October 17, 2012. The US release is scheduled to be on October 18, 2012, and the UK release date is scheduled for October 19, 2013. It opens in the US on October 20, 2013, and it closes on October 23, 2014, and is released in Germany on October 24, 2014. The U.K. release is on October 25, 2015, and then in Australia the following month on October 26, 2015. It ends on October 28, 2016, and opens in Japan the next day.
