Desmond Haynes retired as the most prolific run scorer in One Day Internationals in 1994. The record stood for four years until it was broken by India’s Mohammed Azharuddin. In 2001, Tendulkar became the first player to cross the 10,000 run mark in ODIs. Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle are the only active players in the format on this list.
