Moore made her feature film debut in 2001, with a minor voice role in the comedy film Dr. Dolittle 2. She received recognition for her starring role as Jamie Sullivan in the romantic drama film A Walk to Remember. In 2019, Moore was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Moore was born on April 10, 1984, in Nashua, New Hampshire, to Stacy, a former news reporter who once worked for the Orlando Sentinel, and Donald Moore, a pilot for American Airlines. She has an older brother, Scott, and a younger brother, Kyle. She was raised Catholic, but has since developed a ‘hodgepodge of things’ that she believes in, such as the Bible, the Koran, and the Bible’s teachings on marriage and motherhood. Moore is of Russian-Jewish, English, Scottish and Irish descent.

She currently lives in Orlando, Florida, with her husband, David Stater, and their two children. She also has a son with her long-term boyfriend, Michael Stater. She is married to former NFL player and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and has a daughter with ex-NFL player and current Florida Governor Scott Walker. Moore and her husband have a son, Michael Moore Jr., who is also a singer-songwriter and has appeared in several films, including Saved! and The Darkest Minds. Moore had to leave Bishop Moore Catholic High School when she was only in the ninth-grade, but continued receiving her education from tutors. In the summer of 1999, Moore began touring with the boy band NSYNC. Later that year, Moore also toured with theBoy band Backstreet Boys. Moore’s debut single was released on August 17, 1999, in the United States. The single debuted at number 88 on the billboard Hot 100, but was compared to the teen pop singers Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson, and Britney Spears. Moore subsequently released the studio albums Mandy Moore, Coverage, Wild Hope, Amanda Leigh and Silver Landings. The album received a limited release in only a few countries through Epic Records through Epic Music. Moore also appeared in the short film Tangling Ever After and the series Tangling: The Series. Her second studio album was released in December 1999, and received a Platinum certification.
