Tammy Abraham

Tammy Abraham is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Chelsea and the England national team. An academy graduate of Chelsea, Abraham made his senior debut for the club in May 2016. He spent a season on loan with Championship club Bristol City, where he won Player of the Season, Young Player of The Season and top goalscorer awards. A further loan spell at Swansea City followed for Abraham but the club suffered relegation from the Premier League. He joined Aston Villa in 2018 and became the first player since 1977 to score 25 goals in a single campaign.

Abraham is the son of former Chelsea player Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham and is the nephew of former England international David Bakumo. He was born in London and grew up in the south of England. Abraham has a younger brother, Adam, who also plays for Chelsea. He made his debut for Chelsea in a 1–1 Premier League draw with Liverpool in May 2016. On 5 August 2016, Abraham signed for Bristol City on a season-long loan from the club. On 4 July 2017, Chelsea announced that Abraham had signed a new five-year contract with the club and joined fellow Premier League clubs Swansea City and Milton Keynes Dons. On 8 February 2018, Abraham went on loan to newly promoted Huddersfield Town for the rest of the season. He failed to add to his tally of goals by the end of the year, however, having gone on to score his first goal in his opening Premier League match for the new club in a 4–1 League Cup win over League One team Milton Keynes. Abraham was also awarded the EFL Young player of the Month award for September. On 31 January 2017, Abraham broke the record of former Fulham striker Moussa Dembélé for the most goals scored by a teenager since the beginning of the Football League Championship era. Abraham ended the season with 23 goals to his name, second only to Chris Wood of Leeds United, as City completed the campaign in 17th position, thereby avoiding relegation. His performances throughout the season also earned him Bristol City’s Player ofthe Year, young Player ofThe Year and Top Goalscorer award. In the 2015–16 edition of the UEFA Youth League, Abraham pitched in with a return of eight goals in nine matches, making him the tournament’s second highest goal scorer behind Roberto. He carried his form into the FA Youth Cup and netted the winning goal in Chelsea’s victory over Manchester City in the final in April.
