Scott Francis McTominay is a Scottish professional footballer who plays for Manchester United and the Scotland national team. He is a graduate of the club’s youth academy and made his senior debut in May 2017. He scored his first competitive goal for United on 2 April 2019 in what was his 41st appearance for the club. On 23 June 2020, he signed a new contract to keep him at the club until June 2025.

On 23 June 2020, he signed a new contract with United to keep him at the club until June 2025. He was born in England but has Scottish ancestry coming from his father. He has been capped at under-21 level and has played in the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League. He also played for the Scottish Under-21s and Scotland Under-23s. He signed his first professional contract with Manchester United in July 2013.

He made seven appearances for the Under-18s between 2013 and 2015, but struggled due to his small size. He struggled again during the 2015–16 season, but commanded a place in the team the following season with three goals in 21 games prior to his senior call-up. He suffered a knee ligament injury on 26 December, which prevented him from playing for three months. He resumed full training on 19 February 2020 and scored in United’s 2,000th Premier League match on 27 October. He played his first European match in two years against Club Brugge in the Europa League Round of 32 second leg on March 8, 2018. In November, he scored United’s second goal in a 2–0 win at home to Manchester City after a mistake by goalkeeper Ederson.
