Ruth Jones

Ruth Alexandra Elisabeth Jones MBE is a Welsh actress, comedian, writer and producer. She co-wrote and co-starred in the award-winning BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey. Jones was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to entertainment.

Jones was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to entertainment. She was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Female Comedy Performance and won a BAFTA Cymru Award for best screenwriter. She is married to Army actor John Mesurier while she was married to John Leurier, and has two older brothers and a younger sister. The couple have a daughter, a son and a daughter-in-law. Jones is a patron of Comic Relief, which she helped to set up in 2009.

She also has her own production company, Tidy Productions, which has produced a number of TV shows and a film, including The Great Outdoors and A Child’s Wales. Jones has a daughter with actor Rob Brydon, and a son with actor David Walliams, who has appeared in several BBC shows, including Little Britain and The Street. Her daughter is also an actress, and she has a son, a daughter and a grandson with actor James Corden, who she has appeared with in several TV series and films, including Big Brother and The X-Files. Her son is also a comedian, and he appeared in the film East Is East. Jones and her daughter have two sons, a boy and a girl, both of whom have appeared in TV and film roles. She currently lives in London with her husband and two children.
