Detective Michael Tritter is a recurring fictional character in the medical drama series House, portrayed by David Morse. He is the main antagonist of the third season, which ran between 2006 and 2007. Initial critical responses to the character were mostly positive, but critics later felt that the seven-episode Triter story arc became ‘boring’, and the character was dropped from the show in 2007. The character is a police detective who suffers from a severe irritation in the area of his groin, which he believes to be caused by a sexually transmitted disease. He becomes a patient of the walk-in clinic, where he is treated by Dr. Gregory House. In one episode, he tries to get House to apologize for leaving him in an examination room with a thermometer in his rectum.

After House refuses to apologize, he researches House’s background and discovers his Vicodin addiction. He turns people close to House against him and forces House to go to rehab. The judge sentences House to one night in jail, for contempt of court, and to finish his rehabilitation. In the final days leading up to House’s case, House realizes the severity of the situation and finally apologizes. House goes into rehab, but TritTER and the judge put a show on a show for the show to put him back on the show. The show was canceled after the episode, ”Goodbye, Mr. House”, aired on November 14, 2007. Tritters character was killed off in the final episode of the series,”'”Goodbye Mr. Dr. House”, which aired on December 8, 2007, on ABC. The series was canceled at the end of the seventh season.
