Jared Thomas Goff is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He played college football at the University of California, Berkeley. Goff was selected by the Rams as the first overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. He helped lead the Rams to their first winning season in 14 years and their first playoff appearance in 13 years in 2018. Goff has been selected to the Pro Bowl in both of his two seasons in the NFL. He has also been named to the NFL All-Star Game and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Goff signed a 4 year USD 134 million contract with USD 110 million guaranteed leading up to the 2019 season. He is the son of Jerry Goff and has an older sister named mcLauren. Goff grew up as a San Francisco 49ers fan and wears the number 16 as a tribute to Joe Montana, who played for the 49ers before Goff was born. He was recruited by a number of college programs and received scholarship offers from Boise State, Fresno State, and Washington State before choosing to attend and play for the Golden Bears. Goff set 26 Cal records, including passing yards, passing yards per game, touchdown passes, completions, passing attempts, total offense, and total plays. He is second only to Aaron Rodgers on Cal’s all-time list for passing efficiency. In the 2015 Armed Forces Bowl, Goff threw for six touchdown passes and led the Bears to a 55–36 victory over Air Force. In 2015, he was a first-team All-Pac-12 honors for the first time in his college career.

He set a new Cal single-game record with 542 passing yards in a 48–46 come-from-behind victory over Arizona State, earning Player of the Week honors for a second time. As a junior, Goff led the Cal team to a 7–5 regular-season finish, clinching Cal’s first winningSeason since 2011. He threw for a new career-high and school-record 527 yards and five touchdowns in a 60–59 victory over Washington State. In 2014, Goff was again the starting quarterback for Cal. He finished the 2014 season with 3,973 yards, 35 touchdowns, and a 62% completion rate, once again setting new school records. He won the Pac-12 Offensive Player of The Year award for the second time at the end of the season. Goff has been selected to the Pro Bowl in both of his two seasons in the NFL. He has also been named to the NFL All-Star Game and the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The Rams will play in Super Bowl LIII, the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance since 2001, on February 2, 2019. Goff is a member of the NFC West and NFC West Divisions, and the NFC East Divisions of the AFC East and NFC North Divisions. He will be the Rams’ starting quarterback in the Super Bowl, as well as playing in the NFC Championship Game and NFC Divisional Championship Game in the AFC Championship Game. Goff will also be the team’s No. 1 wide receiver, as he has been in all three of his college seasons.
