Edwards is a member of the Jamaican bobsled team and led a procession of skiers down the slopes of the Olympic Park while carrying the torch for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

He has also been involved in a number of charity work, including the British Ski and Snowboard Association and the Ski Jumping Association of the UK. He currently lives in London with his wife and two children. He works as a plasterer and lives in a mental hospital in Helsinki, Finland, where he used to work as a mental patient. Edwards has a son, a daughter, and a son-and-a-half-year-old daughter, both of whom are also ski jumpers. He lives with his parents in London, and has two step-daughters, a step-daughter and a granddaughter.
