He moved to London when he was 16 and began working in the civil service as a clerical officer at the Post Office Savings Bank in Hammersmith and then for HM Customs and Excise. In 1993, Davis formed super-group Class Class Rockers with former Eagles bassist Randy Meisner, Bobby Kimball and guitarist Denny Laine.
During the summer of 2012, Davis lived on Catalina Island, a small island in the Pacific Ocean off the southern coast of California. He was a supporter and honorary member of the Wales National Party, Plaid Cymru, and the Welsh Labour Party. He died in Los Angeles, California, on 25 July 2013. He is survived by his wife, the former Christine Perfect, and his son, David.
