About Tremors: Shrieker Island in brief
Tremors: Shrieker Island is a 2020 American direct-to-video monster film directed by Don Michael Paul and co-written with Brian Brightly. It is the seventh film in the Tremors franchise. The film stars Michael Gross and Jon Heder and was released direct- to-video on October 20, 2020, by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The movie is set on a private island where big game hunter Bill leads a hunting party to hunt down Graboids. Bill genetically bred the Graboids on the island and made them more powerful and intelligent for his hunt. He also cut off communications so nothing would stop him and his hunting party. The hunt continues but goes wrong when the Graboid that made it to the site earlier has shown up and is subsequently dubbed ‘The Queen’ The Queen devours Bill when he is unable to convince him to give up his hunt and kills the remaining members of his party. Burt is left to kill off the remaining Shriekers, while Jas and the others set up the trap for The Queen and make it off the island.
The Queen leads them to an inactive volcano where they lure The Queen over a plateau onto a bed of dynamite and blow it up leaving only Burt as the Alpha of the group. The final confrontation sees Burt kill off The Queen in an attempt to save his friends Valentine McKee, Earl Bass, and Valentine’s best friend, Valentine, from being eaten by The Queen. The last survivor is Jimmy, who points out to Burt that he must be the Alpha until Burt points out the remaining survivors, including Freddie, are killed off by the remaining Graboids in a trap set by Burt and Jimmy. The climax takes place on Dark Island, where Burt tries to gather weapons to defend himself, only to find out they have no firearms to defend themselves, only a bunker from World War II which has machetes, two M2 flamethrowers, and dynamite that’s unstable.
