It was loosely based on the 2010 picture book of the same name by Marla Frazee, and is the third film in the series to feature Alec Baldwin’s voice as the lead character, Alec Baldwin, and Steve BusCEmi’s as a babysitter. The book was published by Simon & Schuster, and the film was released by Dreamworks Animation on March 26, 2017. It has been released on Blu-ray and DVD in the U.S. and in the UK on March 27, 2018, and on March 28, 2019, in Australia and the UK. It will also be released in Australia on March 29, 2020, and in Europe on March 30, 20, 20 and Australia on April 28, 20; and in France on April 29, 20. The sequel is scheduled for release on March 25, 20th and 30th, 2023, and 20th, respectively, in Europe and Australia. The third film will be the second installment of the series, which will be called Boss Baby: The Last Boss Baby, which opens on May 1, 2027, in the United States and 2028 in Europe. The fourth and final installment will open on May 10, 2028, in France and 2029 in the Netherlands and 2030 in Germany and 2031 in Austria and 2032 in Germany. The fifth and final film is due out on May 31, 2029, in Japan and 2034 in the USA.
