The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Watt to a fully guaranteed, four-year, USD 9. 25 million contract with a signing bonus of USD 4. 87 million on June 14, 2017. He entered training camp competing with James Harrison for the starting right outside linebacker position. Watt saw action in the team’s first preseason game against the New York Giants, where he made two sacks in the 20–12 victory.
