The 28th season of the American CBS competitive reality television series Survivor. The season filmed from July 11 to August 18, 2013, and premiered on February 26, 2014 with a two-hour episode. The finale and live reunion show did not take place on a Sunday but instead aired on a Wednesday. Tony Vlachos was named the Sole Survivor over Yung Hwang by a vote of 8–1.

The season filmed from July 11 to August 18, 2013, and premiered on February 26, 2014 with a two-hour episode. The finale and live reunion show did not take place on a Sunday but instead aired on a Wednesday, in the show’s regular time slot, on May 21, 2014. Tony Vlachos was named the Sole Survivor over Yung \”Woo\” Hwang by a vote of 8–1. The fourth consecutive season to be filmed in the Philippines makes the Philippines the second most-used country for filming, tied with Samoa. This season features the return of a hidden immunity idol that can be used at Tribal Council after the votes have been read, except this idol came without a clue. This is also the first time in ten seasons, since Survivor: Tocantins, to feature two finalists, instead of three, facing the jury vote for the winner. The cast is composed of 18 new players, initially split into three tribes containing six members each: Aparri, Luzon, and Solana. Luzon is named after the namesake island in Cagayan, while A Parri and Solan are also named after towns in Cagsayan. The final three tribes were: Apari, Solana, and Luzon, with 11 players remaining: five from Solana and six from Aparre.

The winner was announced on May 22, 2014, with a total of 18 players remaining. The jury was made up of former professional basketball player Cliff Robinson, president of Major League Baseball’s Miami Marlins, and Sarah Lacina, who returned for Survivor: Game Changers and Survivor:  Winners at War. Yung Hwang competed on the premiere of Candy Crush, while Kassandra McQuillen and Spencer Bledsoe appeared on the season premiere of Survivor:  Cambodia and Cinderella on May 23, 14, and Latasha Fox on May 25, 13, 12, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0, 1, 2, 2 and 1, respectively, were castaways in the first two episodes of the season, which aired on July 11 and August 18, 2013. The last episode aired on August 16, 2013 and featured the final four castaways, who were divided into two tribes of six based on dominant attribute: \”Brawn\” and “Brains’ and “Beauty’s” The castaways were shuffled into two new tribes of seven: “Aparri” and � “Luzon”, with the three Brains, three of the Beauties, andSarah from the Brawn tribe; and “Solana” and the other five Brawns.
