About Osman I in brief

Summary Osman IOsman I or Osman Ghazi was the leader of the Ottoman Turks and the founder of the Ottomans. Not a single written source survives from Osman’s reign. He was most likely born around the middle of the thirteenth century, possibly in 12545. The exact date of his birth is unknown, and very little is known about his early life and origins due to the scarcity of sources and the many myths and legends which came to be told about him in later centuries. The dynasty bearing his name later established and ruled the Ottoman Empire. This state, while only a small Turkmen principality during his lifetime, transformed into a world empire in the centuries after his death. It existed until shortly after the end of World War I. The first datable event in Osman’s life is the Battle of Bapus in 132, in which he defeated a Byzantine force sent to counter him. Osman appears to have followed the strategy of increasing his territories at the expense of the more powerful neighbors. His first advances were through the barren passes which lead from northern Phrygia into the more fertile areas of Bithynia. He married two dervishes named Edebali and Aebali, whose story emerged among later writers to explain the relationship between Osman and the Ottoman writers.

He also had a close relationship with the local religious leader, like the Sheikh of Eskişehir, whose daughter he married. He died in 1280 and is buried in the city of Söğüt, on the Turkish border with the Byzantine Empire. His descendants would eventually go on to conquer the vulnerable Byzantine Empire, which his descendants would later go on and conquer. He is the subject of the Oscar Wilde novel “Osman the Little” and the film “The Adventures of Osman I” (1998) The film is based on a novel by the same name, written by the Turkish-born Turkish writer, Osman Cık, and is set in the same region of Asia Minor as the Ottoman principality. It is the first of a series of films based on the life and times of the late Ottoman leader Osman. The second film, “The Art of War,” is due to be released in 2015 and will be directed by Terence Moore and directed by Mehmed Reza Pahlavi. The film will be released by Turkey’s National Film Company, which also owns the rights to the novel “The Godfather” and “The Last Emperor”
