Nathaniel Edwin Clyne is an English professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Premier League club Crystal Palace. He began his career at Crystal Palace, before a move to Southampton in 2012. Clyne joined Liverpool in July 2015 for a fee of £12. 5 million. He left the club in July 2020 as a free agent, and re-joined Crystal Palace in October 2020 on a short-term deal.

He made his senior international debut for England in November 2014, and was selected for Euro 2016. In the 2010–11 season, Clyne was the youngest player in the Football League to play every single match of that campaign, and won Crystal Palace’s Player of the Year award.

He has also represented England at under-19 and under-21 level, and has represented his country at the 2014 World Cup, 2014 European Championships and 2014 FIFA Confederations Cup. He is also a member of the England Under-21 squad, and made his debut for the senior side at the World Cup in Brazil in June 2014. He was named in the England squad for the 2014 Africa Cup of Nations, which took place in Brazil from June 14 to July 14, 2014. In February 2010 he was offered a deal to join Wolverhampton Wanderers, but rejected it without even entering talks with manager Mick McCarthy.
