Mohammad Amir is a Pakistani cricketer who played for Pakistan between 2009 and 2020. He made his Test and ODI debut in July 2009 at the age of 17. In August 2018, he was one of thirty-three players to be awarded a central contract for the 2018–19 season by the Pakistan Cricket Board. On 26 July 2019, he announced his retirement from Test cricket in order to focus on limited overs cricket. Amir retired from international cricket on 17 December 2020 due to personal issues. Amir married British citizen Narjis Khan in September 2016. Together they have two daughters, Minsa Amir and Zoya Amir. Amir is the son of Raja Muhammad Fayyaz and is the second youngest of seven children. He was spotted at a local tournament and invited to join the sports academy set up by Sir Asif Bajwa in Rawalpindi in 2003. Amir, then 15 years old, went on a tour of England with the Pakistan U-19 cricket team and took 8 wickets at an average of 16.

37. In 2008, he took 4 wickets in successive matches against Sri Lanka and England. This strong domestic form resulted in him making his international breakthrough in the 2009 Twenty20 World Cup. In October 2011 he was drafted by the Galadiators for the inaugural edition of the Bangladesh Premier League. Amir made his international debut against England in the group stages of the 2009 ICC World Twenty20 Twenty20 tournament. He took the wicket of Ravi Bopara with only his second ball, with Shoa Malik taking a fine catch, and conceded only one run in his One Day International match. After his successful 2009 T20 tournament Amir was selected in the test squad for the 2011 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. He also scored 23 runs in the Test series against the Sri Lankan side. In his first international match Amir was chosen in the fast bowling squad for Pakistan’s final match against Sri Sri Lanka, taking 3 wickets for 3 runs and scoring 23 runs. Amir also played in the ODI series alongside Shib Malik, taking only one wicket and conceding only one runs in his one-day international match. In July 2019 he was selected for the Dublin Chiefs in the inaugural editions of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament. However, the following month the tournament was cancelled. Amir has been selected to play in the Khulna Tigers–Bangladesh Premier League in November 2019.
