Josh Richardson

Joshua Michael Richardson is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association. Richardson was selected in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft by the Miami Heat. He has also played for the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Richardson missed the end of the 2018-19 NBA season with heel and groin injuries.

Richardson is the son of Oklahoma City firefighter Seth Richardson, who retired as a firefighter in 2012. He is also the nephew of former Oklahoma City Cowboys player and coach Brett Brown.

Richardson has been called a “bridge builder and connector” by Dallas Mavericks Coach Brett Brown, who called him a “connector” and a “builder” by his father. He was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March, becoming just the third player in Heat franchise history to win the monthly rookie award; the other two being Caron Butler and Michael Beasley. Richardson missed the end of the 2018-19 NBA season with heel and groin injuries. He scored a career-high 37 points and made eight 3-pointers in a 120–118 loss to the Golden State Warriors on February 10, 2019.
