John Lydon

John Joseph Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten, is an English singer and songwriter. He is best known as the lead singer of the late-1970s British punk band the Sex Pistols, which lasted from 1975 until 1978. He also fronted post-punk band Public Image Ltd, which he founded and fronted from 1978 until 1993, and again since 2009. He was diagnosed with spinal meningitis at the age of seven and spent a year in Haringey Hospital, London, suffering from hallucinations, nausea, headaches, and severe memory loss.

In 2009, he released the album ‘Public Image’ with a line-up of musicians from around the world, including the likes of U2, The Rolling Stones, The Police, The Beatles, U2 and U2’’, as well as his own solo album, ‘Psycho’ The album was released in 2005, and he has since appeared on TV shows in the US, UK, Belgium and France. In 2010, he announced that he would be retiring from the music industry. He said he was ‘tired’ of being called a ‘poster boy’ for the punk movement. In 2011, he revealed that he had been in a car accident that left him with a permanent curvature of the spine, leaving him with permanent spinal curvature. He had also suffered from hallucinations and nausea, and suffered from severe headaches, nausea and headaches, as a result of which he spent four years in a London hospital. In 2012, he said he would retire from music.
