About Impact Wrestling in brief

Summary Impact WrestlingImpact Wrestling is an American professional wrestling promotion. Founded by Jeff and Jerry Jarrett in 2002, the promotion was initially known as NWA: Total Nonstop Action and was associated with the National Wrestling Alliance. The promotion was purchased by Anthem at the beginning of 2017 and, in March of that year, was fully rebranded under its current name after its main television series. In November 2004, TNA discontinued their weekly pay-per-view shows in favor of a monthly 3-hour pay- per-view show. The last weekly show took place on September 8, 2004, and was broadcast on Fox Sports Net. In October 2002, Panda Energy purchased a controlling interest in TNA. Xplosion launched on November 27, 2002, as TNA’s first regular cable show and featured exclusive matches taped at the TNA Asylum as well as exclusive interviews with TNA wrestlers. TNA introduced a six-sided wrestling ring, the Fox Box, for displaying the match and time for the competitors and a generally more sports entertainment style than the sports style exemplified by WWE. In July 2002, Vince Russo joined Jeff andJerry Jarrett’s NWA-TNA promotion as a creative writer and would assist in the writing and production of the shows. The company put on its first show on June 19, 2002. That night, a 450 lb wrestler named Cheex hit the ropes with so much force that one of them broke. The estimated repair time was 30–60 minutes, which they did not have because the schedule called for them to go live in a few minutes, whether the ring was ready or not.

Backstage, the producers shuffled the schedule so that some non-wrestling segments went first to give the ring crew some more time, but they didn’t have many of them. The ring crew fixed the rope with the help of Ron and Don Harris, and everyone went live hoping for the best. After 27 months and 111 pay-Per-view events, Tna began producing a weekly television show and monthly three-hour Pay-per View events. In May 2004, Impact! introduced a TNA! television program produced at Soundstage 21 at Universal Studios in Florida and broadcast on fox sports.com. In June 2004, the company held the first of these pay- PER-VIEW events, the Road to Victory, which was held the same week as the first TNA Roadshow. In August 2004, it began producing its own TNA World Heavyweight and TNA world Tag Team championships. In 2007, the NWA ended its agreement with the company and the company created its own World Tag Team Championships. In 2009, the organization became known as Total Non Stop Action Wrestling. In 2010, the TNI Wrestling Network was launched. In 2012, the group was renamed TNA Wrestling Network. In 2013, it changed its name to TNA Impact Wrestling. The TNA brand was adopted by its parent company Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC, a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment.
