Daniel Jones (American football)

Daniel Stephen Jones III, nicknamed Danny Dimes, is an American football quarterback for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He won the Heisman Trophy in 2011, and the NFL MVP award in 2011 and 2012, as a junior at Duke. He has been named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame after being inducted into the NFL’s Ring of Honor in 2012. He also won the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in 2010.

He played college football for Duke, and was drafted by the Giants in the first round in the 2019 NFL Draft. Jones was named MVP of the 2017 Quick Lane Bowl against Northern Illinois where he went 27-of-40 with 252 passing yards and two touchdowns, along with 86 rushing yards from sixteen carries for one touchdown. During his senior year, he was named the MVP in the 2018 Independence Bowl. He will serve as a captain for the Giants for the last thirteen years, after Eli Manning held the honor for the previous thirteen years. He was selected to be a team captain in his second season, which is theteenth consecutive season he has been on the Giants’ team.

He is also a member of the North and South teams, and played in the Senior Bowl for the North team, where he was also the MVP of that game.
