Ashley Elizabeth Fliehr is an American professional wrestler, author and actress. She is currently signed to WWE, where she performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Charlotte Flair. In 2016, PWI readers voted Flair both Woman of the Year and that year’s world’s top female professional wrestler. She became the first woman to headline a WWE pay-per-view event in October 2016 and one of three women to headline WrestleMania, WWE’s flagship annual event, in April 2019.

She is currently signed to WWE, where she performs on the Raw brand under the ring name Charlotte Flair. Flair is one half of the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions with Asuka in their first reign as a team and Flair’s first reign with the title overall. In 2016, PWI readers voted Flair both Woman of the Year and that year’s world’s top female professional wrestler. She became the first woman to headline a WWE pay-per-view event in October 2016 and one of three women to headline WrestleMania, WWE’s flagship annual event, in April 2019. She has an older half-sister, Megan, and an olderhalf-brother, David, while her younger brother Reid died on March 29, 2013. She attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, playing volleyball in the 2005 and 2006 seasons before transferring to North Carolina State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in public relations in Spring 2008 while also being a certified personal trainer prior to becoming a wrestler. In 2000, Flair made her first appearances in professional wrestling at the age of 14, appearing with her father in World Championship Wrestling as Ashley Flair during his feud with Vince Russo and her half-brother David. On May 17, 2012, she signed a developmental contract with WWE and trained under Lodi in North Carolina before joining NXT, the WWE developmental territory, in Tampa, Florida.

In late 2013, Charlotte formed a tag team with Bayley, Aksana and Alicia Fox on the September 4 episode of NXT, which she won. After a two-month absence due to a legit injury, Charlotte returned on January 22, 2014 and began accompanying Bayley and Sasha Banks to their matches. In February 2014, Charlotte attacked the BFFs, TheBeautifulBeautiful, Fierce Females—Beautiful Females——on the November 13 episode of NXT and joined their matches as a villain. In April 2014, she became the fifth Women’s Triple Crown Champion and the fourth Women’s Grand Slam Champion. On July 25, 2016, she and rival Sasha Banks would do the same, marking only the third time a Women’s Championship match main evented Raw. On the October 10 episode of NXT, she won the NXT Women’s Title a second time in 2020 making her a record 12-time women’s world champion. On November 13, 2013, she defeated two two-time WWE Divas Champions Alicia Fox and the Aksana Fox on the November 13 episode of NXT, but lost to Santana Garrett, but won the title again the next day. On January 22, 2014, Charlotte and Sasha Banks confronted Santana Garrett and Alicia Fox on the January 22 episode of NXT and convinced her to join them, much to Charlotte’s annoyance.
