Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, singer, and dancer. She is known for her work on television as Betty DiMello on the Showtime period drama Masters of Sex, and on Broadway as Lauren in Kinky Boots. In 2017, Ashford starred in the critically acclaimed, limited run revival of Sunday in the Park with George opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. In 2015 she released her debut album, a live album entitled Lost in the Stars: Live at 54 Below.

Ashford’s other notable film and television credits include Unbelievable, Bad Education, the CBS comedy B Positive opposite Thomas Middleditch, and the FX drama Impeachment: American Crime Story. In 2015 she released her debut album, a live album entitled Lost in the Stars: Live at 54 Below. She made her film debut with a small part in Sex and the City: The Movie. She also appeared in the film Getting Married as a counter girl. In 2009 it was announced that Ashford would take place as one of the principal singers in the musical adaptation of Stephen Sondheim’s The Addams Family with Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth, but she was later replaced by Krysta Rodriguez. In 2011, she played the role of Addams in Bring On The Black Suits, The Musical. In 2012, she starred in a Broadway production of The Book of Mormon as the lead role of the titular character. In 2013, she appeared in a Tony Award winning performance as Essie Carmichael in You Can’t Take It With You. In 2014, she was cast in the Tony Award-winning performance of The Sound of Music as a lead role in The Greatest Showman.

She was also cast in a revival of The Color Purple as a supporting role in the touring production. In 2016, she had a small role in a production of Les Miserables.
