Alex Rider is a series of spy novels by British author Anthony Horowitz. The series comprises thirteen novels, as well as six graphic novels, seven short stories, and a supplementary book. The first novel, Stormbreaker, was released in the United Kingdom in 2000 and was adapted into a film in 2006 starring Alex Pettyfer.

The series comprises thirteen novels, as well as six graphic novels, seven short stories, and a supplementary book. The first novel, Stormbreaker, was released in the United Kingdom in 2000 and was adapted into a film in 2006 starring Alex Pettyfer. Alex, the main character, is recruited by MI6 after discovering the truth about his uncle’s life and death. He is sent to investigate a multimillionaire named Herod Sayle and his creation, the revolutionary and newly developed computer called Stormbreaker. Alex later discovers that the Stormbreakers contain a deadly virus and that Sayle is planning to kill British schoolchildren. In the end Alex foils his plan and succeeds in his first mission. Alex got caught spying and was forced into a real-life version of ‘Feathered Serpent’ and manages to escape by cheating the way only a real human can unlike an avatar. At the end of the novel, as Alex leaves Liverpool following his debriefing by Alan Blunt, he is shot by a sniper who hired by Scorpia. He returns to Scorpia and returns as a double agent himself after being told his father was really working as adouble agent for the criminal organization. Alex is soon recruited as an assassin where he discovers that he will assassinate Mrs Jones, but then is turned back onto the MI6’s side.

He discovers a much larger plot, one involving the US government and the world’s security. The novels are published by Walker Books in the UK and by Puffin in the U.S. They have been published more recently by Philomel Books, also an imprint of Penguin Books, and are aimed primarily at teens and young adults. Alex Rider was published in 2000 in the. United Kingdom and in 2001 in. the United States, and in 2002 in North America in 2002 under the alternate title Point Blank. The books are available in English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Spanish and German, with an English-language version available in the US and a German-speaking version in the German-language edition. The English-speaking versions of the books are published in English and French, German and Italian, with a Spanish-English version in Spanish and a Portuguese-English edition in the American version. The American version of the novels is published in Spanish, French and German and the Italian-German versions in the English-Spanish edition in both English and German. The U.K. and the American versions are also available in French and Spanish. The UK and American editions of the series have been released in paperback and hardback, with the option to buy a copy of the book for £9.99 (US$12.99) and £10 (UK) for £8.99. The US and Canadian editions of these books are also published in paperback.
