Tracy regained the championship six days later and held it until October 10, 1986 he finally lost the title to Boy Tony. He made a jump back to the CWA in June 1986, teaming with Pat Tanaka against The Hunter & The Strong Machine. He joined Championship Wrestling from Florida in February 1987 and immediately formed a tag team with Steve Armstrong as \”The Wild-Eyed Southern Boys\”. Their first match came on February 17th in Tampa, FL, where they lost to The New Breed. The Southern Boys held the NWA Florida Tag Team Championship until March 15th, when they were defeated by The MOD Squad.
In June they unsuccessfully challenged for the Nwa United States Tag Team Championships, losing to The Midnight Express. As a team the Southern Boys experienced success, beating the likes of Osamu Kido, Kuniaki Kantoshino, Norio Honaga, and Seiji Sakaguchi. Their final match came in December 1988 at NJPW Cup Series – 21 television show. They lost to Kotetsu Yamamoto & Yoshji Yoshji. Tracy won the United States Wrestling Association with John Paul Teaming after the promotion was renamed CWA Teaming with John Teaming. He later won the U.S. Championship with Paul Teamed after he vacated the title. He died in a car accident on December 12, 1988. He is survived by his wife, two children, and two step-grandchildren.
