About The Mortuary Collection in brief
The Mortuary Collection is an 2019 American horror anthology film written and directed by Ryan Spindell. It stars Clancy Brown, Caitlin Custer, Christine Kilmer, Jacob Elordi, Barak Hardley, Sarah Hay and Mike C. Nelson. It had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 22, 2019. In the 1980s, mortician Montgomery Dark manages the Raven’s End Mortuary. One day, a young woman named Sam comes to respond to the Help Wanted sign outside, and shows interest in a job working for Montgomery. Sam complains that Montgomery’s stories, however true they may be, are too predictable and follow a theme of people being punished for their sins. One evening, Sam babysits a child named Logan while his parents are away. This prompts the strange man to fight through the house to find Logan.
Sam is unsure of how to react until the phone rings and she hears an answering machine message about the escaped killer. She then finds a strange man with a head wound in the house; he tells her how he got in and how he killed a woman in the bathroom. Sam then tries to open the bathroom medicine cabinet but is unable to. When she pries it open, she finds a tentacled monster inside, and despite her screams for help, she is attacked and killed by it. The monster drags the young woman’s body into the cabinet and shuts it. Jake discovers to his horror that he has a creature growing inside his stomach. Jake’s penis explodes, killing him, and Sandra’s mother takes the monstrous baby upstairs and lays it in a crib.
