Taylor Daniel Lautner is an American actor, voice actor, and model. He is known for playing Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga film series based on the novels of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. In 2016, he played a leading role, Dr Cassidy Cascade, in the second season of FOX black comedy series Scream Queens.

He has also starred in the BBC sitcom Cuckoo as the son of the titular character. He was born on February 11, 1992, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He grew up in Hudsonville, Michigan, a town near Grand Rapids. In 2005, he appeared in the film Cheaper by the Dozen 2 and starred in The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D. In 2011, he also starring in the 2011 action film Abduction. He appeared in small television roles, small film roles, and ads and commercials. He also has voice-over roles in animated series such as Danny Phantom, What’s New, Scooby-Doo? and Danny Phantom. Lautners flew from Michigan to Los Angeles for auditions when his talent agency called, and returned to Grand Rapids for school sometimes the same day. In 2002, he and his family moved to California for a month, to try it out, before moving to Santa Clarita, California, permanently in 2002. In 2006, he spent three months on location in Austin, Texas, on location for The Young Artist, a film about the life of a software development company founder.

In 2008, he starred in a small role in the made-for- television film, Wild Wild Wild, and then appeared in The Bernie Mac Show My Wife and Kids. He then got a small television role in a commercial for Rugrats Wild Wild. In 2009, he had a small TV role on Rugrats Go Go Go, and was a voiceover for Rugrat’s Wild Wild Go Go. In the same year, he earned his first breakout role, starring in The Sharkboy 3- D film, The Adventures Of Sharkboy. In 2012, he made his first appearance in the animated series The Phantom Duck, Duck Dodgers, and Duck Duck Duck. In 2013, he landed the role of Danny Phantom in the TV series Danny Phantom and the movie Danny Phantom 2. In 2014, he became a teen idol and sex symbol, after extensively changing his physique to keep the role in further Twilight installments, and generating media attention for his looks. In 2015, he won a Teen Choice Award for Best Actor in a Feature Film for the film The Leading Artist in Austin. He won a Golden Globe Award for his performance in The Young Actor in The Leading Performance in a Film by a Young Artist in The Best Performance in Feature Film by Austin Austin, a Film about the Life of a Software Development Company, and a BAFTA Award for the Best Performance by a Younger Actor in the Young Artist.
