United States Secretary of Transportation
The United States secretary of transportation is the head of the United States Department of Transportation. Elaine Chao, who served as the secretary of labor under President George W. Bush, was nominated by Donald Trump on November 29, 2016. On January 7, 2021, Chao announced her resignation following the Capitol attack, effective January 11.
