Michael Jackson wrote the ballad after a water balloon fight with children in Germany. Executives at Jackson’s record label, Epic Records, responded positively to the track when given a preview. The track featured backing vocals from Andraé Crouch and his gospel choir. A remixed version of the track was released as a promotional single in 2001.
