Seer stone (Latter Day Saints)
Seer stones were believed to have been used by ancient prophets to receive revelations from God. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that Smith used seer stones to translate the Book of Mormon. Some early-19th-century Americans used sean stones in attempts to gain revelations or to find buried treasure.
