Evelyn Mase
Evelyn Ntoko Mase was a nurse in Johannesburg, South Africa. She was the first wife of anti-apartheid activist and future president Nelson Mandela. They had four children, three of whom survived into adulthood. She died of a respiratory illness in 2004 at the age of 89.
