Edmund Herring
Sir Edmund Francis Herring was a senior Australian Army officer during the Second World War. He was the longest-serving Chief Justice and Lieutenant Governor of Victoria. After the war he carved out a successful career as a barrister and King’s Counsel. He died in Melbourne, aged 89, on November 25, 2013.
