From his official declaration of candidacy in June 2015 through the first two-and-a-half years of his presidency, he tweeted over 17,000 times. In a January 2019 UMass Lowell poll, 68 percent of all respondents aged 18–37 said Trump tweets too much. As the incumbent president, Trump’s personal Twitter account has certain privileges and public interest protections against community moderation.
