Amherst, Wisconsin
Amherst is a village in Portage County, Wisconsin, United States. The name Amherst was established in 1853 by Adam Uline. The first known settler was John F. Hillstrom, who arrived in 1851. It is located in the Tomorrow Valley area, which is at the core of the Portage Valley region of the Wisconsin Dells.
