Shane Robert van Gisbergen is a New Zealand racing driver who competes in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. He currently drives the No. 97 Holden ZB Commodore for Triple Eight Race Engineering. He has also forged a successful GT career, including a number of entries in the 24 Hours of Daytona for Alex Job Racing.

He has also forged a successful GT career, including a number of entries in the 24 Hours of Daytona for Alex Job Racing and competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series for McLaren with Von Ryan Racing and Garage 59. In late 2012, he announced a retirement from V8 Supercars, citing mental health issues. He controversially moved to Tekno Autosports for the start of the 2013 season, leading to accusations that he had falsely claimed to be suffering mental health problems to get out of a contract with Erebus Motorsport who purchased Stone Brothers Racing. In 2014, he co-drove to the BNT NZ Supertourers Hankook Super Series championship with primary driver Simon Evans.

In 2017, he started his title defence with a commanding commanding lead but finished 4th in the championship. In 2018, he won both Race 1 and Race 2 at the Adelaide ZB ZB Car race. In the final race of the season, he ignited a thrilling Safety Car battle with Jamie Whincup after a thrilling final race. On August 4, he has won the SuperNight race at Sydney, the first time a New Zealander has done so in 21 years. He also won the 2016 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour with Álvaro Parente and Jonathon Webb, also winning the 2013 Bathurst 1000 for Tekno. He won the Fuchs 500 weekend at Pukekohe Park Raceway with winning race #3 in spectacular fashion driving from 1 lap down. He is the first New Zealander to lift the trophy named in honour of Jason Richards, who died of cancer in 2011.
