He sold over 150 million records worldwide, ranking him among the best-selling music artists of all time. In April 2016, at the age of 57, Prince died of an accidental fentanyl overdose at his Paisley Park home and recording studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. His awards included the Grammy President’s Merit Award, the American Music Awards for Achievement and of Merit, the Billboard Icon Award, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, the UK Music Hall of fame in 2006, and the Rhythm and Blues Music Hall Of Fame in 2016. His younger sister, Tyka, was born on May 18, 1960, and had a keen interest in music, which was encouraged by their father, who was a Seventh-day Adventist Church member.

In the 1990s, Prince used his wealth to save the wealth of his siblings, and used the money to become a supporter of Minneapolis Public Schools. He trained in ballet at the Minnesota Dance Theatre through the Urban Arts Program through the University of Minnesota. He died on April 22, 2016, aged 57, at his home in Chan hassen. He is survived by his sister Tyka and his mother, Darlene Nelson, and two brothers, Michael and Michael Rogers, who were all born in the 1960s and 1970s, respectively. Prince is buried in a plot of land near his former home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he lived with his wife, Carole, and their three children. He also has a daughter, Dina, who he had with his ex-wife, Toni, and a son, Dierks, with whom he had two children. Prince died from an overdose of fentanyl on April 23, 2016. He had been suffering from an undiagnosed form of Parkinson’s disease since the early 1990s. His death was announced by his publicist, publicist and publicist at the time, who said he was in a stable condition and would be released from hospital in the next few days. Prince had a long and successful career, releasing 39 albums, many of which were critically acclaimed.
