In 1985, the film was made into a suspense thriller Khamosh, starring Naseeruddin Shah, Amol Palekar, Shabana Azmi and Amol Shabani. The sequel, Khamosh: The Second Half, was released the same year. It also starred Naseem Shah, Shahabuddin, Amol Palekar and Shabana Azmi, and Suresh Oberoi and Tom Alter play supporting characters. The third and final film in the series was Khamosh The Third and Fourth, which was released a year after Parinda. The fourth and final installment of the series, Parinda: The Fourth and Fifth, released in 1987, was directed by Vinod Chopra and starring Ravi Agrawal.
