The club’s home matches are played at the 11,249-capacity Aker Stadion. Molde are four-time league champions and four-times Norwegian Cup winners. They are one of only two Norwegian clubs to have participated in the UEFA Champions League.

Erling Moe is the current manager of the club since taking over as a caretaker manager on 19 December 2018, when Ole Gunnar Solskjær left the position to manage Manchester United as a caretaker manager. In the first post-war season in 1947–48, Molde were relegated from the top flight. Since then Molde has generally stayed in the top division and has become one of Norway’s leading clubs. Between 1978 and 1984, both Molde and Viking won their last match, meaning Molde won the silver medal after finishing one point behind Viking. The last match Molde lost was against Strømsgodset in the final of the Norwegian Cup in 1984, meaning that Molde did not win the title. In 1994, MoldE lost the Norwegian League Cup final against Sarpsborg. In 2002, Moldi won the Norwegian Premier League title after finishing second in the league for the first time in the history of the league.

In 2005, Molda won the league again after winning the cup final against FC Midtjylland. In 2008, Moldes won the Swedish Cup after beating FC Ljubljana. In 2009, Molded won the Danish Cup after defeating FC Lillehammer in the semi-final. In 2010, Moldez won the Dutch Cup after a 1-0 victory over FC Lokeren. In 2011, Mold e won the French Cup after winning a penalty shoot-out against FC Lecce. In 2012, they won the Belgian Cup after drawing a penalty with FC Lausanne. In 2013, they were crowned the European Champions League winners. In 2014, they became the first Norwegian club to win the European Cup. In 2015, they also won the UEFA Europa League after beating AC Milan 2-1 in the quarter-finals. In 2016, they finished second in Eliteserien after a 3-1 win over FC Sogndal. In 2017, they beat FC Hovedserien 2-0 in the play-off final to win their first ever league title. The team’s record attendance is 14,615, which is the club’s record for a football match. In 1998, the stadium was a gift from local businessmen Kjell Inge Røkke and Bjørn Rune Gjelsten. The stadium was inaugurated in 1998, and was a given to the club by the businessmen. In 2000, it hosted the club’s record attendance of 14,000, which was also the record for the Norwegian Football Association.
