Melvin Tucker II is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head football coach at Michigan State University. Tucker was the interim head coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League for five games in 2011. He was the defensive coordinator for both the Chicago Bears of the NFL as well as theUniversity of Georgia.

Tucker resigned as Colorado’s head coach on February 12, 2020, to accept the same position at Michigan state.

He became the 12th highest paid head coach in FBS and 4th in Big Ten at the time of signing his contract with Michigan State. He won the 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship with the Alabama Crimson Tide as assistant head coach and defensive backs. Tucker is a graduate assistant for the Michigan State Spartans under head coach Nick Saban and the LSU Tigers under coach Jim Tressel.
