Gita Mahotsav is an event centred around the Bhagavad Gita. Celebrated on the Shukla Ekadashi, the 11th day of the waxing moon of the Margashirsha month of the Hindu calendar. Lord Krishna revealed the Gita to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Summary Gita JayantiGita Mahotsav is an event centred around the Bhagavad Gita. Celebrated on the Shukla Ekadashi, the 11th day of the waxing moon of the Margashirsha month of the Hindu calendar. It is believed that Lord Krishna revealed the Gita to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. In 2016, theGovernment of Haryana organized the International Gita Mahotav from 6 to 10 December to mark the GITA Jayanti.

The International GITa Jayanti was inaugurated by Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, on 23 November 2019 on the sacred bank of the Brahma Sarovar. In 2020, the Government of HARYana celebrated the InternationalGITAJayanti from 17th December to 25 December 2020.
