Frank Paul Vogel is an American professional basketball coach. He is the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association. Vogel previously served as an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics. He has also coached the Orlando Magic and the New Jersey Nets.

He coached the Lakers to their 17th championship, and his first, over the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals. He was fined USD 15,000 by the league for comments he made about the Heat’s alleged flopping in the 2012 Eastern Conference semifinals. He has also coached the Orlando Magic and the New Jersey Nets. He grew up in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, and graduated from Wildwood High School in 1991. He played basketball for the University of Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball team in the 1994–95 season.

He also played for the junior varsity Kentucky basketball team and Vogel graduated from Kentucky with a B. S. in biology in 1998. The Indiana Pacers lost to the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the 2016 NBA playoffs in May. On May 5, 2016, Pacers president Larry Bird announced that Vogel’s contract would not be renewed, citing a need for a new voice for the team. In January 2014, Vogel was named the Eastern Conference headCoach for the 2014 NBA All-Star Game. He had guided the team to a 56–26 record, en route to first in the Conference Conference for the second consecutive year.
