She appeared in a two-minute BBC comedy sketch titled Beyoncé Wants Groceries in 2011. She became known as Twigs for the way her joints crack. Several sources have claimed that the FKA stands for ‘Formerly Known As’, but Twigs has said in multiple interviews that the letters do not stand for anything in particular. She was chosen by Spotify for their Spotlight list on 2014 and she was chosen for the BBC’s Sound of Sound of 2014 prize, and was then starred in the music video for Ouch. In April 2014, Twigs appeared on the cover of The Young Turks’ The 91st issue of its 91st edition. She then starred and directed the video for Fuch Ouch, which was directed by Jesseanda. In August 2013, she released the video. for her first single, \”Water Me\”, on YouTube. The video was directed and produced by Arca and Arca gave it a rating of 810. In December, she was nominated for. the BBC’s Sound of the Sound of. 2014, and she then appeared on The Billboard Artists Watchlist on April 14, 2014. She also appeared on i-D magazine’s Watchlist of Artists to Watch in 2014, then in the Music of the Year list on April 15, 2014, on the Billboard 14th issue.
