The club has qualified for UEFA competitions every season since 1974–75. Tomislav Ivić and José Mourinho are Porto’s most decorated head coaches, each with two international titles. Former Portuguese international goalkeeper and club captain Vítor Baía holds the record for the most appearances in international competitions. Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is the club’s top goalscorer, with 22 goals. Porto occupy respectively the eighth and ninth places in the all-time European Cup and European Champions League club rankings. They took part in the first European Cup in 1956, but were eliminated at the first round by Athletic Bilbao. They are the only Portuguese team to have won either of these trophies or the UEFA CupUEFA Europa League. They also won the Portuguese Cup in 1968 and 1969, but failed to progress past the second round of the Fairs Cup in the following two seasons. In 1992, they won the European Cup with a 4–0 aggregate victory over French Cup winners Lyon, but fell in the next round to 1860 Munich. In 1998, they took part in the second edition of the Champions League with a 2–1 aggregate victory against Real Madrid. In 2002, they reached the final of the UEFA Super cup, but lost 3–2 on aggregate against Galatasaray. In 2004, they also reached the quarter-finals of the European Super Cup, where they were beaten 2–0 on aggregate by Barcelona. In 2006, they lost 2–3 on penalties to Manchester United in the final. In 2008, they finished third in the UEFA Europa Cup, but could not progress beyond the second round. In 2010, they qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history with a 3-1 aggregate win over German side Borussia Monchengladbach. In 2011, they reached the final of the Champions League with a 1-0 aggregate victory over Bayern Munich. The Portuguese side have won the Champions Cup and the Europa League in each of the last three seasons. They have also taken part in the inaugural editions of the UEFA Champions League and the Cup Winners Cup. In 2012, they entered the Inter-Cities Fairs Cities Cup for the first time in 1962–63.
