Eva Jacqueline Longoria Bastón is an American actress, producer, director, activist, and businesswoman. She is most known for her role as Gabrielle Solis on the television series Desperate Housewives, which ran from 2004 to 2012. Longoria also starred as Ana Sofia Calderón on the short-lived NBC sitcom Telenovela. She has been named one of Hollywood’s most beautiful women by several publications, including People en Español and People magazines.

She has been named one of Hollywood’s most beautiful women by several publications, including People en Español and People magazines. She currently holds modeling contracts with L’Oréal and New York & Co, among others. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 15, 1975, the youngest of four daughters born to Mexican-American parents, Ella Eva and Enrique Longoria, Jr. She did not speak Spanish growing up, and did not learn the language until 2009. While in high school, she worked at a Wendy’s restaurant part-time for three years to help earn money for her quinceañera. She received her master’s degree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge, in May 2013 following three years of study. In the 2000s, Longoria appeared in several high-profile advertising campaigns and numerous men’s magazines, reaching the No 14 in FHM’s Sexiest Women poll. In 2006, she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, along with her co-stars in Desperate housewives.

In 2013, she won the ALMA Award for best actress in a comedy or drama for her performance in The Sentinel. In 2014, she received a SAG Award nomination for her portrayal of Isabella Braña on the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless, on which she starred from 2001 to 2003. In 2015, she starred in the TV series Overboard and appeared in Overboard again. In 2016, she made a guest appearance on the NBC series The Biggest Loser, playing the mother of a young boy. She appeared in an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210, and in a movie called Señorita Justice, a poorly received direct to video film, and a television film titled The Dead will Tell.
