Donna Hanover

Donna Hanover is an American journalist, radio and television personality, television producer, and actress. From 1994 through 2001 she was First Lady of New York City, as the then-wife of Rudy Giuliani. Hanover branched out into acting, having a prominent role as real-life presidential candidate Ruth Carter Stapleton in the 1996 film The People vs. Larry Flynt.

In April 2000, Hanover accepted the lead role of Eve in the television series Law & Order: Family Practice. She has also appeared on Family Law, The Family Practice, The City and Ally McBeal and Sex & The City. She is married to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and has two children with him, Andrew Harold and Caroline Rose.

She currently lives in New York with her husband and their two children in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. She also has a husband and two children of her own, who live in Los Angeles. She was married to Stanley Hanover from 1968 to 1980; they had no children. She worked as an anchor for New York’s WPIX Channel 11 television in 1983, and was the lead anchor for its 10 p.m. newscast for much of the 1980s. She left her anchor role during Giuliani’s unsuccessful 1989 bid for mayor to go on maternity leave. In 1993 she actively campaigned for her husband during his successful campaign for Mayor, appearing in his television ads as a devoted wife and mother.
